Rare gold brooch in the style of the Renaissance, formed of a caryatid cherub, surmounted by a very beautiful water emerald. Vegetal scrolls emerge from the hands of the cherub from which hang two garlands of small diamonds set in platinum. A fine pearl in a tassel animates the whole. Magnificent matte gold patina. Superb chasing of the carved parts, evoking the work of Louis Rault. A very fine example of the 19th century taste for old styles revisited (Antiquity, Middle Ages and Renaissance).
