The Maison Dior yellow diamond
In this month of April, of which the diamond is the birthstone, let's celebrate the diamond highlighted by the Maison Dior during the reopening of its store last month:
The Maison Dior yellow diamond
A diamond bearing the name of the avenue de la Maison: the Montaigne. Coming from a rough of 150 carats, it is a Fancy Intense Yellow diamond and a feat of size: Dior has made its final weight an express condition of its purchase. The Montaigne weighs exactly 88,88 carats, cushion cut.
An 88,88 carat diamond, a lucky number
The 8 is a favorite number for the Maison Dior: it opens on avenue Montaigne on October 8, 1946, on 8 floors in the middle of the 8th arrd as well as the En Huit line created during Christian Dior's first haute-couture collection. Not to mention that the number 8 is lucky and synonymous with fortune in China. This sought-after yellow diamond therefore undoubtedly has many assets.
A tailor-made piece has already been imagined by Victoire de Castellane, artistic director of Dior to stage it.
